To import groups and group members, you must complete a template. Importing is useful when you need to make changes to large amounts of users or groups. This article will guide you through downloading and filling out the template to import groups and group members.
Importing a Group
In order to Import a group, you must download and complete a group template.
To download a blank group template:
- Select Groups & Schedules from Configurations on the main menu.
- Once on the Groups and Schedules page click Bulk Add at the top of the page.
- Select Groups from the drop-down menu.
- Click Download Blank Template to download an excel template.
- Open the downloaded template. Enter Group Names in the Group Template. Optionally, you may enter additional information under the rest of the columns.
Import groups from the completed template.
- Select Groups & Schedules from Configurations on the main menu.
- Click Bulk Add. Then click Groups from the dropdown menu.
- Click on the Choose File button. In the pop-up dialogue box select your completed template and click Save.
- View the Imported Groups from the Groups and Schedules page.
Importing Group Members
In order to Import a group, you must download and complete a group member template. This template displays group dynamics.
To download a blank member template
- Click Bulk Add.
- Select Group Members from the drop-down menu.
- Click the Download Blank Template button
- Open the downloaded template and input member data
Group Member Template Fields
- GroupName – The group into which you are importing a member
- MemberName – The username for the member being imported
- GroupMemberType – Groups can be nested, and this column differentiates between a user or group import. Input 1 for User import or 2 for Group import
- PriSecUser – Indicates the user role. Input 1 for Primary, 2 for Secondary
- Manager – Indicates the manager role. Input a 3 for a manager or leave blank for all others.
- SequenceID – Starting at 1, the sequenceID is a unique identifier for imports.
Import Group Members
- Click Bulk Add
- Select Group Members from the dropdown menu.
- Click on the Choose File button. In the pop-up dialogue box select your completed group member template and click Save.
- View Import Results
